These days, we’re finding ourselves at home – A LOT. Whether you’re staying home by choice, or simply by obligation, you might as well make the best of it.
So what’s something you can do around your home now that future you will be glad you did? Get rid of all that extra stuff! Here are a few tips we have to help you declutter your home:
-
- Go through your closets – Get rid of any clothing you haven’t worn in the past 2 years. Take them to a donation center near you so someone else can benefit from having the things you no longer wear. Got old towels that are falling apart or expired meds in your linen closet? Now’s the time to say goodbye!
- Clean out your kitchen – Got things in your pantry that expired 5 years ago? Toss them in the trash! What about old plastic cups or random koozies that you never use? It’s the perfect time to get rid of them.
- Organize your garage, basement, and/or other storage spaces – Organizing these areas will almost always result in you finding things you’re willing to part with. More organized storage spaces are easier to navigate when you’re looking for things.
- Get your kids involved – Right now is the perfect time to ask your kids to organize their spaces and to find things they no longer need/want. Think of someone else who could benefit from having your children’s things and get them out of your house before your kids change their minds!
There are endless things we could be doing around our homes these days. If you take some time to declutter now, you’ll be so glad you did!
