Having trouble finding the perfect fall centerpiece? Why not make your own?? That’s exactly what I did this year! I collected a few things I found in various places and added them all together to create this one-of-a-kind fall centerpiece.
Want to create a similar look? Here’s what you’ll need:
- serving tray – finished or unfinished
- finish for tray (if applicable)
- cake stand
- two mini pumpkins
- large metal pumpkin
- three mini wreaths
If you’ve purchased an unfinished tray like I did, you’ll want to finish it before moving on to the next steps. I painted mine with a gray chalk paint I found at Joann’s. You could also choose to stain the wood or just apply a clear coat for a more unfinished look. Allow 24-48 hours for the tray to dry completely before moving on to the next step.
Once your tray is ready to go, add the cake stand to the middle of the tray. This will add height and interest to your centerpiece.
Place one mini wreath on each side of the cake stand and one on top of the stand. Add a mini pumpkin to the center of each lower wreath and position the large metal pumpkin on top of the cake stand to complete the look.
And there you have it – a handmade fall centerpiece to last all season long! Other variations could include additional pumpkins/gourds, burlap ribbon, or fall florals. We’d love to see what you create! Post your photos on Instagram and Facebook and use our hashtag #wildflowerdsgn.
